The House
A U-shape, wrapped around a deck.
The house is shaped like a U with the rooms running down both wings and a central deck in the courtyard. Behind the house is the seasonal pool. Around all of it: six acres of mature sycamores and black walnuts, with the neighbor's 55-acre woods extending the quiet in every direction.
Shared kitchen
One full kitchen for the whole house. Coffee, cookware, fridge space, and counter room for meal prep — a big deal if you're here for a month or more. Bring groceries, there's a Kroger about 12 minutes east.
Two shared baths + the master bath
One bathroom on each wing of the U-shape serves the four shared-bath rooms. The Sycamore master has its own private bath and walk-in closet.
Washer + dryer
Free, in-house laundry. Bring detergent or use what's there. A real perk for long stays — scrubs, work clothes, gym stuff, beach towels. No quarters, no laundromat, no $5 per load.
Central deck
The courtyard deck is the heart of the house — coffee in the morning, drinks at sunset, and an easy place to meet the other guests if you're staying as a group.
Seasonal pool + fire pit
The pool out back is open in season, with a fire pit nearby for the evenings. With only five rooms on the property, it never gets crowded the way a hotel pool does.
The sandy corner & fire pit
A natural sand deposit sits in the corner of the property — it actually feels like a small beach in the middle of the woods. It's the best spot for a fire and the way the trees frame the western sky makes for a sunset that's hard to beat.
The land
Six wooded acres of sycamores and black walnuts, bordering a private 55-acre forest. Deer, turkeys, owls, songbirds, frogs — we've even spotted a bald eagle. You're 15 minutes from downtown Dayton but it feels like a different state.
The host lives on the property.
Alex lives in a separate detached mother-in-law suite on the property. He's around if you need something, but you'll rarely see him. Self check-in means you can come and go on your own schedule.
